Jesus – Our Everything from A to Z
Editor’s note: I miss Brother Gary. This month will mark one year since his passing. Let’s keep Linda in our prayers, especially this month. No doubt she can use them.
As Linda was going through Gary’s items, she found Gary’s signature invitation when he presented Jesus – A to Z. This exhortation was filled with a descriptor of Jesus and scripture using every letter of the alphabet. That content follows. Linda also found an incomplete work Gary was compiling. It was Paul - A to Z. Several men in the congregation will complete this work in his honor.
Gary was a great example. I experienced firsthand his solid reputation in both the church and “the world.” People in his workplace spoke very highly of him. I am reminded what we read of Abel, “though being dead, he still speaks” (Hebrews 11:4).
Jesus- A to Z
A. He presented himself alive (Acts 1:3)
B. He is God’s beloved Son (Matt. 17:5)
C. He is the Christ (Luke 4:41) who is coming soon (Rev. 3:11)
D. He is our deliverer (Rom. 11:26)
E. He gives us eternal life (John 3:16)
F. He is our fortress (Psalm 91:2)
G. He is glorified by God the Father (John 1:14)
H. He is holy (Luke 1:35); The Holy One of God (Mark 1:24)
I. He is the imprint of God (Heb. 1:3)
J. He will execute judgement about the nations on the day of His wrath (Psalms 110:6)
K. He is the King of Kings (1 Tim. 6:15)
L. He is the Light and our Likeness is His (Gen. 1:26)
M. He is the Mediator of the new covenant (Heb. 9:15)
N. He proclaimed good news (Luke 4:18)
